Description
Before it was Detroit it was détroit — the French word for a strait, the narrow water Cadillac named the settlement after in 1701. This Detroit trucker hat puts that spelling back on the front panel, accent and all, embroidered in white thread on a structured six-panel cap.
It is a small piece of local history that most people who live here have never seen written down, which is exactly why it works on a hat. Nothing borrowed, nothing licensed, no mark that belongs to anyone else. A place name from three centuries ago is about as public domain as language gets.
The blank is a Richardson 112 with cotton-poly front panels, a polyester mesh back and a plastic snapback that adjusts to fit most heads. The visor comes pre-curved. Four dark colourways — black, black on charcoal, black on white, and charcoal on black — each made to order and shipped from a US facility.
